Royal Copenhagen Blue Fluted Easter Eggs

Eggs are part of Easter, and Royal Copenhagen’s new Easter eggs are decorated in traditional cobalt blue, of course. The decoration is based on the Blue Fluted pattern, which is celebrating its 230th anniversary this year. In fact it was in 1775 – the year in which the Royal Danish Porcelain Manufactory was founded – that the first Blue Fluted service was made.

The Easter eggs come in four designs, each decorated with a section of the old Blue Fluted pattern. In other words you can see the stylised chrysanthemum surrounded by small leaves on one egg, the grass with the chrysanthemum in the middle on another and a meandering sprig of clover and leaves on the third, while the fourth egg is decorated with a palmette.
